Turn signal trouble

hi I have a 72 f100 and my turn signals stopped working but my hazards still work 🤔. I was thinking maybe it's the switch in column but wanted to make sure before I try to figure out how to remove the steering wheel.

thanks
Dylan

I would first try a flasher fuse. It's cheaper and easier.

is there separate tubes for the hazards and turn signals? That would make life a lot easier

Yes, one is affixed to the brake assembly down plate (emergency I think) and the other on the back of the cluster

T/S flasher and 4 way flasher look identical (round with 2 'prongs'), but the 4 way flasher is a H/D unit, has a louder CLICK

T/S flasher plugs into the back of the instrument cluster at upper left.

4 way flasher nestles into a bracket that is retained to the backside of the dash w/a screw.

Great Thanks Numberdummy! Do I have to pull the dash panel or can I go from underneath?

Reach under the dash, R&R'ing the instrument cluster is a time consuming PITA

To add to Bills comment, I bought an extra loud flasher for my truck because my boy couldn't remember to turn it off after changing lanes. I do not know the part number nor remember wher I got it....

The 4 way H/D flasher was factory installed for the turn signals with trailer tow on cars & trucks.

Dealers would install the 4 way H/D flasher in lieu of the T/S flasher for people that were deaf.

C5AZ-13350-B .. T/S Flasher (Motorcraft SF-224).

D1FZ-13350-A .. H/D Flasher (Motorcraft SF-552-B).
