Well I have been threatening for a long time to replace my rusty cab on my 73 scs. After giving my step son my first replacement cab with stipulations that has yet to touch. I found this 78 cab for 50 bucks. Overall it is in good shape except for the right floor pan. Looks like the heater core leaked for a long time. And I found some pin holes on the left rear cab corner. And a small dent. I have a parts cab with perfect floors and cab corners so that's all free but my time too cut out. So if I decide to take tomorrow off work I'll start the repairs. My plan is to fix the cab corner floor pan and any thin metal I find. Replace all seals. Paint the inside to match my existing cab and have back together by September. So enough rambling here is some before pics of the new cab. I'll post more pics as I go.
The rusty floor pan. Going to take it out on top of the transmission tunnel ans across under the seat are The good side Parts cab right floor pan Going to use a piece of this left side where the tank selector valve mounts. Replacement cab little bit thin there
Post as many pics as you can, Justin. I know I've got some of the same repairs as you in my future and I'd really like to see how you go about it using factory bits instead of buying patch panels new.
Good luck, I'm looking forward to seeing your work.

cool. I will give you a call when I get the pans in.
If Summit, UPS, and I all do our part, I should have new tires, wheels, and a 4 bbl on my 76 by then... I'll bring it. Or it will bring me, whatever, and I can show you it's problem areas.

Big a@& hole.Figured get all the thin metal Setting replacement in for cutting Test fittings
I got the passenger side floors welded in today.I used 16 gauge stainless steel for the patches I had to make. Let those areas rust out again lol. Only reason I used it is because I had it laying around. I didn't grind the welds perfect flat figure why since I'm covering it it sound deadner mat and carpet. I will flip the cab on it's back so I can grind the under side and paint. Here is some pics
