We topped out at 94 at around 1PM yesterday. Then we got this very weak on-shore flow that slowly pulled the temps down. By the time we got to 11PM, it was 74. Then, strangely, it started climbing again. By the time I got up this morning, it was 78.
It was relatively pleasant having dinner out on the deck last night.
Yep, Red (the 6.0) was developing a squeal in the fan clutch and running a bit warm in the hills up here. On the way back from camping, we came down the West side of Hatchet on 299 and at the bottom heard a thunk followed by no go. Coasted to the shoulder and waited on AAA
Took her in to the mechanic and they found the following this afternoon: KOEO ICP (v)-0.24, ICP (psi) - 7.9, IPR%-15, SYNC-0, FICM 48v. They were still testing when we stopped by at 5:00. The owner is leaning towards the HPOP, but doesn't want to prejudice his mechanic. Hopefully I'll know more tomorrow.
I have 155k on the odometer right now.
Edit: the wife named the trucks, hers is Clifford (5.4l) and mine is Red (6.0l).
Clifford the big red dog. That is too bad that the truck stopped running. Never fun no matter when or where it happens. hopefully they can find the culprit quickly.
Well, today was interesting in that I got 4 hours of paid windshield time in the "cool" mountains. Spent about 3 hours in 2 meetings, and then played in traffic (what little there was). We have a new project to rehab 9 miles of rural highway and met with the local maintenance crew, along with a quarterly Safety committee meeting at their yard.
The good news was that as my team got back into cell coverage, my mechanic left me a message that I could pic up a running Red again. The IPR valve bit it BIG TIME and once they replaced it, everything seems to be running ticky boo.
Ah, makes sense that it needs to work correctly then huh? LOL. Never owned a diesel, even though i wanted to when I had my settlement money. maybe later when I get my credit cards paid down I can look again.
