Not sure why they call them cooled seats, they should call them ventilated seats cause that's what they are. It's all dependent on inside ambient temperature inside cab to determine how cool the seat feel.
Question... when your butt and backside sits against the fabric/leather and it basically blocks off the holes, how is the seat supposed to blow air on you? The only part I have noticed any cooling is where the butt doesn't reach into the deep corner between the seat bottom and the seat back.
I've also made sure that when I wanted cooler air to reach me in the seat, I turn on the AC and the to-the-floor setting, so the cool air goes to the floor. Especially since the cooled seats uses the ambient air in the cab.
My 2018 works just well. I suffer from chronic swamp *** as I have to wear a suit for work. I usually have it on the lowest setting.
Does the seat back cool as well? My seat bottom worked great, but I couldn’t feel any cooling air on my back.
I added the Seat Guru mod last summer. The seat bottom is now too cold after about 15 minutes. Both the wife and I feel like we’ve pissed ourselves it’s so cold. A very strange feeling. The seat back works better, but it still isn’t very effective. Works best if I give it ten minutes if pre-cooling time (auto start) and only wear a t-shirt.
Put one of those Cooling Vests on if you're Hot if not run your air or you could
wear one of those Speedo Outfits, or you do the Other butt after Dark!!
No, been flawed since 2015 F-150's rolled of the assembly lines. Ford did make some changes, as original design overheated the seats, some owners were concerned for their kids in the back seats, possibly getting burned while touch the front seat backs! Ford stopped them from overheating, but did not fix the Cooled seat bottoms and backs.
Drove a 2018 KR and the seats worked better than 2015-2017 models, had read they changed up design some for 2018.
As per others it’s eiter non functional with Ford and their TSB,s or Seat Guru for 2015-2017 F150’s and 2017 Super Duty’s.

I have never heard that expression before and I'm sorry to say that every time I turn on my trucks cooled seats I will now remember it and check for "swamp ***"
