Can anyone identify the purpose of the three small holes in a C6 front pump?
I recently rebuilt my transmission and, upon removing the pump, found three small dowel pins sitting in the bell housing that appeared to have come from these holes. I cannot find any diagrams or pictures that reference these holes being plugged, and feel like I'm going crazy. Is there any reason these holes would have pins/plugs in them?
I have never seen anything installed into those holes in the pump, one is for the converter fill and one for the forward clutch and the one for the direct clutch. Anything in those passages could restrict the flow of fluid to those areas.

the dowel pin like parts you found in your bell housing are probably from an old starter bendix that failed and when starter was replaced they were left behind, nothing goes in those holes.
