Block Heater

Does the block heater come with some kind of a cord? I found the Box Link stuff under the back seat finally, the dealer said the block heater should be under there too? But it aint there?

Not sure about the 17 but my 16 came installed from the factory. Check the hole in the front bumper on the passenger side you should find what looks like the male end of an extension cord with a rubber protective cover over the end of it.

I do have that but no extension cord for it. The dealers telling me it's suppossed to have a cord under the rear seat along with the box link stuff.

Did you get a cord with your 2016?

There is not a separate part # for an extension cord and it is not part of the standard heater kit. This sounds like something maybe your dealer gives you as a "freebee."

If that's the case, yeah I would definitely tell them you do not have and ask when you can pick one up. Most people recommend a heavy duty cord (10 gauge) just to help carry the load of the element. If you can get one for free, even better!!

Unless the truck was ordered with the block heater, there is no block heater installed in the engine and would not include the cord.

Go to this Ford site, enter your VIN after clicking the Vehicle tab and search/look for "Immersion Heater Engine". If you find it, the truck came with block heater, if not listed, truck does not have heater in block nor cord.

If you have blocker heater from factory, the cord should have been installed at factory and the end of it will be in the front bumper area near one of the fog lamps
