Block Heater Cord

My heater cord is shot. I picked one up at the dealership for 45.00. has anyone else replaced theirs? theres a nut next to the block that appears to hold the female end in. if someone knows how to replace it id really appreciate the help. thanks.......

I had an old extension cord at home so i cut my block heater off a little ways in and wired up the end of the extension cord to it.
