Torque Pro OBDLink MX Chalenge

Hey guys when i select real time monitoring about 5-10 seconds later truck shuts down. I'm sure its me missing something, monitoring PIDs as per the sticky, all tested offline and say not connected to ECU when doing so. Any thoughts?

One of the formulas is not right. With key on engine off go through each pid and test. One or more of them will fail to test.

Did you manually load pids? IIRC the one that gave me trouble was throttle position but it's been a while

thanks man, I'll work through them, and yeah most are manual. Only tube fed is one transmission temp for comparison

Tugly has warned many times to test them before actually cranking the truck and trying them out. I thought I've got really good attention to detail I'll be very careful loading them. So I loaded a bunch, got in a hurry wanted to try them out. crank the truck then hit real time and it almost immediately backfired violently and shut down. I thought crap I hope I didn't mess something up. Went through and tested them and sure enough I had one or two that I had put the formula in wrong

In case it is relevant, mine works perfectly EXCEPT when I try to pull codes. I have a 2001 and Pop has a 2000 and we both have the same problem.

I am using a cheap OBD device.

I otherwise agree with with the above advice previously posted about trying things out first.

Just noticed my "TITLES' didn't match the guide as I was trying to 'unique' them when it came to selecting them from the menu so they would stand out. Totally my fault - reprogramming now lol
