Torque app...
I downloaded the Torque app for my EVO 4g phone last night. Looks pretty interesting. Ordered a Bluetooth OBD adapter for it today. I don't remember what brand it was now but it got really good reviews. I was told to stay away from the Chinese made adapters. Does anyone else use this app? Looking forward to playing around with it. Should be able to see EGT etc. I just want to see more than the truck gives me in the LCD display.
Yup, using it on my Xoom with a cheap adapter:

Not sure if Apple has the Torque app for iphone or not. Go to your app store and type "Torque" in the search bar. It was $4.99 in the Android Market.
I bought the Soliport ELM 327 Bluetooth OBDII off Amazon for $30 and it seems to work good. There are a number of gauges in the app that don't work but I don't think that the ELM 327 is to blame but rather the app.

The only engine related gauges that are working for me are:
Engine Coolant Temp
Engine Load
Engine RPM
Fuel Level
Voltage
I have the latest version of the app and have a Droid X with gingerbread. The phone is connected to sync via bluetooth as well.
Any ideas why I'm not seeing more available gauges?

I don't even see Oil Temp in my list of choices. Do I need to manually input the PID's?
I think the engine oil temp (EOT) PID is already on the enhanced Ford menu, or whatever it's called. I don't have my Xoom with me to confirm but I think in the options menu of Torque, there's a selection for Ford PID's.

Go to the 'Realtime Information' screen, then press the menu button, then 'Add Display', select the display type you want and that should give you a list like this. All of the active outputs are in green. Have fun!
BTW, you have to go through two complete drive cycles before it starts reading coolant temp.
I told Ian about this bug a month ago.

I have heard about the coolant temp issue before. For me it's hit or miss on whether or not it works the first time.
If it reads EGT, I'm ordering one immediately. Let us know.
