Just trying to find out for sure about changing out my front end parts to change to an 05-07 from an 01. Are these all the parts needed to make the change? The 05-07 hdr panel, lights, bumper, light pigtails and grill? Does the 05 hdr panel need to be modified to fit the 01 vehicle or will it bolt right up before I can add the lights ? Do the bumpers come with brackets and do they fit right up with my 01 power steering cooler or do I need to modify that also. It sounds kind of straight forward but I know how that can be. I know I can get a sinister diesel front end conversion but the cost of that sounds to be extremely high considering the cost of buying the parts off a wrecked vehicle or salvage yard, craigslist and such. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, RG.

 

Just did mine, you can cut the header panel. While you are in there get a 6.0 trans cooler.

You will also need '05+ fog lights.

Oldguy, When you say cut up the hdr panel, are you talking about cutting the 01 hdr panel or having to cut up the 05-07 hdr panel?

 

Cut the '01 panel to fit the '05 headlights see instructions or buy an '05 panel.

 

The 05-07 fogs take special, long bolts on the top two positions. I have a place local to me (South of Austin a bit) that will sell you EVERYTHING you need for about $700....lights, pigtails, fogs, bumper, upper and lower valance, grill, brackets...you just re-use your bolts/U-nuts from your current bumper.

 

NicMike, can you send me the info to the place that you know? I can probably drive up there and get the stuff. Only a few hours from here.

That one is missing the fogs, but look at their site and you will find a package with them.

They also have an all black option. Black bumper and black "Harley" style headlights (not smoked).

I was able to sell my old bumper parts and recoup $200 of what I spent on the conversion. It sold really quick on CL. Guy with a wrecked truck bought it all up.
