Long story short... My 2003 f350 6.0 sputters, throttle peddle response goes in and out, truck idles for 100 yards then cuts out completely luckily going 70 mph down major interstate and costed to nearest exit ramp. Doesn't start again. A friend hooked his comp up to it for me and tells me I have no oil pressure. Truck is new to me and previous owner claims to have replaced the HPOP. I check FICM and volts are around 48.3 give or take a few tenths during initial key turn. Replaced IPR valve and didn't fix the problem, then found ICP sensor was passing oil through to connector. Replaced the ICP sensor and cleaned oil out of harness as best I can. Truck still not starting whether ICP sensor is plugged in or not. Now I'm at a loss and needing help. Other than HPOP what could it be?
Every owner of a 6.0 should have something to read live data, scangauge2 or obd2 bluetooth adaptor and app.
Without watching live sensor data, it is all guess work.
Ficm relay - no volts to ficm won't start
No fuel pressure (needs an add on sensor and guage)
etc.
fuel pressure gauge is great, after changing fuel filters, it'll indicate if a cap isn't tight enough, without having to even engage starter.
