i have a 2003 f250 with a 6.0 that died and wont restart.it has 150k on it.somtimes i can get it to run with a liitle penetrating oil in the intake but when it runs it runs rough and stalls.it has fuel at the filters but acts like it has no high pressure fuel delivery.it has a p 2290 stored in it.i disconected the ipr and it still wont start,i tried draining the oil and refilling it with fresh.im trying to get a scanner that can read the entire data list.is there anything i should look for specifically.my generic scanner only gives me a few parameters crank rpm is ok.
Correct, the ICP is the 3 wire plug and they are a bear to get to. I have not personally done a '03. Fortunately my '04 has it on the valve cover. Here are some instructions (link below) I dug up on ICP replacement. Hopefully it will give you some help. I am sure others who have already had to mess with this might have some other tips, so you may want to do some searching.
i replaced the icp and connector, still no run ,i was able to get a scanner the icp desired pressure is 1407 and the actual is only 324 while cranking.does this indicate i have a hpp problem?I also did an injector buzz test and it passed.no current codes either

It is possible that it is the HPOP. The ICP needs to see a minimum of 500 psi before it will fire the injectors...

Yes it does. Before I did my head stud job, my truck broke down, just like yours, and I could crank it up with starte fluid, but if my rpm fell under 1000, it died. Replaced ICP, IPR, nothing, get to HPOpump, got it out, it was sticking big time.
While I was there, I pulled my oil cooler too, and the little screen for the oil goes to the pump was damaged, so probably some c**p got in to the pump.
It will be hard to do the pump replace, but You should do the EGR delete while you are there too.
To test the HPOP, plug a gauge to port where the ICP is, and crank it....
well i did manage to get the HPOP out and it looks like the seal behind the drive gear is cut and has poped out of the pump housing and rotates with the shaft.I guess this is my large pressure dump.is ther anything else i should change while doing the oil pump?

You opened the top of your engine, so this is a good time to check or replace a couple of things. Some people says replace the oil cooler. I didn't replace mine, but I pulled it to check it, and the little screen under was damaged. It cost $14 , and this keeps the bigger #$%^ away from the hpop.
This is also the best time to do the EGR delete/bypass. On the 6.0 the EGR cooler is a troubleful thing, if you have a chance ( like now ), get rid of the future headaches.
What kind of scanner did you buy that told you all that? How had was it to get to your HPOP? Is the EGR cooler delete just a matter of blocking the exhaust from coming in? Thanks
