Transmission Identification
I hope this question isn't something that comes up a lot. I did do a search but my head started to hurt as I read through a bunch of threads that did not answer my particular question.
I'm just trying to figure out which transmission I have in my truck.
2001 F150 XL
Regular cab
6' bed
RWD
4.2 V6
The gear indicator looks like this: P R N D 2 1 and it has an overdrive or tow/haul button on the end of the shifter.
4R70W or 4R100???

Ok, here is a question that I know is impossible to answer but I'll ask anyway.
What is the expected lifespan of this transmission?
I know. Hard to answer when you don't know what it has been through but here's a little bit of info that might help.
This truck has a little more than 165,000 miles on it.
I've had the truck since it had about 70k on it. Since then, I have dropped the pan, change filter, refill fluid about every 20k miles. The reason I didn't remember what transmission I had was because this truck sat in my driveway for the past 2+ years while I drove my '15 F250.
I used to tow a boat with it that weighed about 1000 pounds.
I always wait for it to come to a complete stop before shifting from R to D or D to R or to P.
The only problem I have with it now is the dipstick tube has come loose. It's till there but it moves around a lot. Not sure what the deal is with that.
