Steering wheel controls - do they light on?
Hi,
I noticed the steering controls are not lit when the lights are on (auto or manual) and I'm wondering if that's the way or if there is a bulb that needs to be replaced...
any ideas?
My truck is an XLT 2009

I'd have to go double check mine, but I don't believe there are any provisions for them to illuminate. Meaning, solid black plastic buttons that won't let lite through even if there were bulbs behind them.

Don't know about the '09 specifically but the '10 I had and the '13 I have now both have illuminated buttons on the steering wheel. On the '13 the steering wheel lights, the instrument lights and all the dash lights (radio, air controls, text display, etc.) all brighten or dim together. Don't remember if the '10 did that or not. I think it did but don't hold me to that.
