Illuminated steering wheel buttons

I'm still fumbling in the dark for the cruise buttons on the steering wheel. I was wondering if they were supposed to light up with the head lights? If the do how do they get replaced?

They don't light up. I think they did in the gen 10 trucks, I don't remember now.
