Anyone ever have problems with the bushings on shocks. The lower bushing, top one is ok.This is the 2nd set that i put on my truck and they get loose and make a clicking noise in the truck.
Anyone have a fix,as the shop i bought them from does not know what to do.They will replace them for free for life, but i have only had them on the truck for 3 days now and there loose.

Is it just on shock or all of them? I had one that kept going on me, it was a bad shock.
Unusual problem.......but a long term fix would be to get a set of aftermarket shocks with the poly bushings. Or see if you can get poly bushings for your stock shocks. http://www.energysuspension.com/pages/sk_bsp1.html
Wow, I am totally amazed at that. Im going to say...if they are loose.....something is not right. Those bushings dont really streatch.....heck, you have a hard time working with them. They are more like hard plastic than rubber. I wonder if the shock bushings are the wrong dimension to begin with...? In 10 years from now, those bushings should still be a son of a bi** to work with. They dont flex or give.... Now the old black rubber bushings...they would flex, tear, smash, wear, distort...and who knows what else.
I lay down under the truck, with a friend bouncing the front of the truck and i can see the lower shock bushing moving up and down.At least 1/4 of an inch each way.I know my sway bar bushings are shot but not that bad.I am going to do my sway bar bushings as soon as i can figure out what size i should get.
Something is not right. 1/4" on a poly bushing is a mile...maybe 3 miles. Pull the lower end of the shock and check the dimension of the bushing ID compared to the fastener going thru the bushing. The fit should not be loose.....it should actually be an "Interferance-Fit"...meaning that you have to lube the fastener and prey to Jesus for help getting that thing thru...if it slides right in with a loose fit......its not right. I cant really see it from here...lol....but I am guessing there is something not right under your truck...
The last time I installed Rancho shocks, the lower poly bushing was too large for the bolt that ran through it.
I found some metal bushings that fit inside the poly bushing and allowed the shock mounting bolt to just fit. This sounds like the problem you are having.
Your Ranchos should have come with a bunch of metal sleeves. They are designed to make for a tight fit. I have the same shocks and I had to use a sleeve too. If you didn't get them call your rancho rep and get a set.
