Power window won't roll up?
Front passenger side window won't roll up. It's about 3/4 down and does nothing when I hit the button. I took the door shell off and put my meter on the wires going to window regulator. When I hit the down button it reads 12.2 volts but when I hit the up bottom it reads -3.7 volts. I know it's supposed the read negative polarity but why is it not pushing the whole -12 volts? Any help appreciated. TIA

Possible cause is that the wiring connector for the door harness is corroded or has a loose connection. More likely, the switch contacts have failed due to dirt or corrosion. The switch location facing up means that they are easily messed up over time from rain falling on the switch, dirt falling into switch, corrosion from being in a damp and cold environment. Also, that window gets run up and down quite often over the years, so it could be a bad motor that is dragging down the supply voltage. The spiral drive assembly that runs the motor up and down (similar to a power antenna operation, but heavier duty) could have bound up, the motor bearings could be frozen. And if the motor has failed in some way or the spiral drive has failed, the switch contacts (which are tiny) could also be damaged from excess current being drawn through them.
