Hey guys, so while fixing some trans leaks on my 6.8. I was tightening a clamp on the center cooler and the lines must have rotted. It snapped off. I was having problems with both attachment points. So guess it's just time. Problem is I cant find a good part number to order one. I can't find it on Rock auto. Here is a picture if it. It's between the front and main radiator. Any help would be great.
Thanks
You might want to check out the Dorman 918-216 2003 5R110 cooler as a replacement.
It's a much larger cooler and bolts in place of your old one.
Also, you would need (2) 3/8"x`1/2" hose adapters and some 1/2" hose.
I would go this route, no more 6.0 fitting issues now that Riffraff has a 7.3 cooler... ...
I think that is the same Mishimoto upgrade cooler for the 5R110 trans that other vendors carry.
It's interesting the description keeps saying "no modifications necessary", but never mentions what size the tubing is - 3/8" or 1/2".
Maybe the hoses it comes with are custom with 1/2" on one end and 3/8" on the other, but again it isn't stated.
Amazon carries the same part no. Mishimoto cooler for $297.50

Called and talked with Clay at Riffraff to confirm...No modifications are needed to install the transmission cooler. The lines have been modified to work with existing 7.3 lines. Direct bolt in. So IMO no reason to purchase the 6.0 cooler now that this is available.

Just talked to CHAT at Riffraff and was told the cooler is the same cooler they have been selling.
The hose lines supplied with the cooler are tapered with 3/8" on one end to 1/2" at the other, so yes, it is a "direct bolt in".
You can still get the Dorman and brass adapters for less.

Just FYI and for anyone seeing this in the future, those are two different coolers (they are the same, but different, LOL), they do not carry the same Mishimoto internal part number. The one posted by Atc is specifically for the 7.3L PSD and the one posted by R&T is specifically for the 6.0L PSD, just Like Ford has two different coolers for the different engines. The Mishimoto coolers just look the same, they just have the correct fittings for the engines they were designed for, hence the difference between the two.
You'd think they would be priced the same, but nope, Mishimoto knows 7.3 guys need the upgrade, so the 7.3L is more expensive.
