Trans cooler????????

I have a 95 F350 with the 5.8 V8 in it. Has 242,000 miles on it and a auto trans. I bought it for the utility body. Never drove more then a few miles like this. When I got it the trans cooler was leaking a little bit. Then it started leaking more. So I took the trans cooler out of line. I'm now getting ready to sell the truck to a budy and wanted to know If it really needs the trans cooler. He will be using it for a dd and some pulling down the road. Should I look into a new trans cooler or just leave it? Any if would be great. I did a search and found nothing on a prolem like this.

Yes it does need the tranny cooler. Heat is the number one enemy of auto trannies.

As stated most definitely needs a cooler and probably needs a new clutch on the fan if its old or never been replaced. Especially if a hot climate and or sits at idle for periods of time, say stuck in heavy traffic now and then.
