Hey folks. I've been trying to bring some life into an ol 78 Dentside with a 400 for one of my neighbors. Well, I noticed that there was a little leak at the fuel line inlet of the carb. So I tried to take the line off to check the gasket and on the first turn the whole threaded nipple broke off with the line. Anyone had any luck with a fix on this part, or would you recommend just getting a new carb?
So is it the brass bushing that broke off the carb? Should be a pretty easy fix to get the brass out and replace the bushing.
No, I wish. It was the whole threaded piece. Aside from trying to weld it back (which so far the piece isn't backing easily out of the hose without breaking more), I think I'm leaning more toward just doing a full carb replace.
