you do not want to use 2 items that are tryingto manipulate the same parameter,or it could go to much in an undesired direction, however that being said ,if you are happy with the adjustability of the edge the sct custom tranny tune is a very good product.it is similar to the scmt max hp tune but the engine part of it has had the performance side modified so it wont interfere adversely with the edge, the tranny side is modified as well, shift points have to be lowered .i have tried this exact combo and it is a very smooth setup.
I have no problem with finding out information, it is well known that NO manufacture suggest stacking....You do not see it in the SCMT thread becasue of the dangers involved for the poor-o-motor . .. ...No matter keep typing …fun to read this stuff

I agree with Tim. Stacking has caused several of my friends issues with trannies and turbos.
what the heck!!!
are you guys serious? i got my edge chip like 3 days ago and installed it but my tranny felt like crap i thought it was going to break or something then just yesterday i recieved my SCT and programed the stack tune with the edge and it feels so smooth and the power is just rediculous! how could this be bad for the truck it feels a lot smoother, howcome everyone recomends the custom tune with the edge if it aint good for it?
Basically...everyone who I've talked to about stacking the SCT and Edge says it's improved performace and shifting. I think the SCT will actually flash the computer to better the shift patterns. The Edge does nothing for the transmission, except defuel itself at shift to ease the strain and allow it to lock better...is my understanding of it. The computer in the truck has shift patterns set up for the stock truck...and the SCT will change that to a custom tune to work with the Edge. Seems like a good idea and nothing but positive feedback on the idea...plus there is a custom "stack" tune for the unit. I'm ordering it.
One last thing I want to figure out and make sure of is that this SCT will not mess with my Tow/Haul...someone told me they don't use it anymore...but I wasn't sure if it was because it wasn't necessary or what?
Guys, they are referring to the custom stack tune. Depending on what dealer you get it from, the injector timing and other tuning issues are custom written to be 100% safe and compatible with stacking for an inline device.
