Hey gang. I was under the truck today (late 99 cc 4x4). Having my wife turn the wheels back and forth looking for possible issues. I'm seeing some movement in the right side tie rod at the knuckle. I'm going to replace all the tie rods and I'm hoping you guys can lean me in the right direction as far as what brand is recommended. I did some searching but some of the info is a little dated so I'm looking for fresh thoughts. Thanks..
Moog has regular duty and a heavier duty. The regular duty sucks. XRF makes them too. While I haven't used XRF tie rods, their ball joints are top notch.
I used to have Moog eveeything but ball jts and tie rods seem to be failing around 50,000 or less. Last end went bad in 50,000 and the ball jts were getting play at 35,000 mi. Would like to try XRF next time! Have 130,000 hard miles on an F550 and ball jts and tie rods are original but my other trucks seem to get around less than half on front ends not sure why.

Just bought this kit and installed. They looks very heavy duty but I can't say much for how long they will last. Time will tell. They do have the million Mike warranty as well.

That part number and link appears to be the warranty itself, not the part. Unless I am missing something.
I'm very pleased with my XRF ball joints. I'm on my second "steering kit" and I went OEM on that since I wasn't overly impressed with my (then) Moog ball joints. Now that I've got some miles on my XRFs I'm going to add to my XRF inventory with steering when the 'rods go out next time. The kit is less than what I spent at the Ford parts counter with a much better warranty!
