Now this is just me... I load a performance tune when the truck is at operating temperature, make a few wide open runs and thrash it. After a period of time or if you always leave that performance tune loaded, the strategy begins to pick up odd quirks.

Return to stock, then reload the tune.
I did reload and it seems to have fixed the issue lol and Watson ya that's what I did could have been the issue too.
First time I did that... first gear, punched it hard, tires smoked, went to shift into second, hesitated briefly and it hit almost 5000 RPM and slammed second gear!
Truck was pretty new to me, before I knew much of anything, thought I'd blew the truck to pieces... diesels are not supposed to make that kind of RPM! Everything seemed fine, oil not pouring out of any holes, not missing and ran good. Punched it again and OH MY GOD....
I like this truck!
Now I let it run thru the gears a couple times to learn the new shift pattern, then lay it down!!!!

lol good to know that's pretty much exactly what I did. Loaded it went to an on ramp punched it quickly shot up to 35+psi and blew off a cac boot lol. Pulled off put it back and didnt get on it again. Now that I've been easy on it letting it learn I haven't had any issues. Apparently that was my problem.

no no haha that was the first time I had it with the tune. Once I saw the 35 i didn't do it again at all. But I have tried all the canned tunes on the tuner so I've reloaded the tune and now I have no issues, I would imagine because I let it learn first.
