2011 F350 Engine Failure
Hello,
I recently purchased a 2011 F350 6.7L last december with 48,000 miles on it.
It stopped running on May 12th with 54,000 miles on it.
Got P0275 and P0305 off of it right before it died. Towed to mechanic, found no compression in #5 cylinder. Pulled glow plug to inspect with scope, no visual damage to piston but could see damage and scoring on walls of the cylinder.
Drained oil and was full of small chunks of metal.
He believes it to be bottom end failure. Broken rod bearing.
I knew the 2011's have had issues with glow plugs/valves/injectors, but never thought this could happen at such low miles.
No warranty on the truck since it is beyond the 5 year mark and was purchased used. I am the second owner and completely devastated. I was very proud to own this truck.
Does Ford stand by their product? Something this bad and this early and this expensive is unbelievable.

Did you buy this truck from a Ford Dealer? If you did buy from a Ford dealer how long ago was this? Did you ask the dealer if there was any warranty on the truck?
There have been cases in some trucks of the 11 model year where they have thrown a rod. Now you need to figure out your next steps .You may be able to make a claim with your insurance company but that would be something you would need to look into.
Whatever the case is your going to need a new or rebuilt engine. You could look for a engine out of wrecked 6.7 to put into your truck. Hope your insurance will pick up the tab or maybe the cost. If you bought this truck at some corner lot where the guys are selling trucks, well your definitely not going to get any help from them,
Who told you no warranty on the engine out of curiosity?
