Breaks
Got 2008 F350 . Should both of the pins on the break caliper holder move freely ?

If I'm understanding the question, neither should move.

It is the little shafts the you mount the caliper to has rubber boots. The bottom on both slide in an out the top on both sides are stuck in position.

This is shared but, lube your slide pins w/permatex ceramic lube.
That's from the old boys w/the 7.3 99 and up. Same system, decades of advice!!

Billy, when u pull the caliper, lets say front.
The pins you removed with the boot (rubbers) are your slide pins.
They are caliper married and must be torn down by you, cleaned and relubed if not sanded first.
Gotta be surgical on this! Make sure you reposition the interior detent on the boot to the caliper.
I'll tell you that more times than not, a gap in the seal leads to havoc on a brake system because they were installed incorrectly.

Honestly, if they are that bad, just buy calipers.

I had a slide pin on the rear caliper get hungup ans torched the pads. ended up replacing the caliper brackets on both sides. came with new pins, but not boots. will need to get a hardware kit as well if your boots are shot.
