I will be replacing the pads and rotors on my 99 SD (build date is May 99). Does anyone know if I can use the upgraded pins with the stock calipers? The Ford part number for the new pins is: Ford # 2C3Z-2C150-AA.
What kind of never seaze have you seen do that? I have a pint of silver nev'r seaze that has been open for the last 4 years, I have to stur it before I use it, but it has never congealed. Is that problem from dirt and bad/warn boots?
neversiez will gum up but not harden with heat,on a brake caliper pin you want a grease that won't do that. thats why we use dilectric grease or caliper grease.
you also want something that doesn't tend to become watery or seperate and have the possibility to get to the pads or rotor after heated.
I do use nevesiez on the pad slide area though ,just a dab of it.reason it is hard to wash away.
or a friction point on a brake shoe ,that rubs against the backing plate on our ebrakes on superduty's
