Another HPO Leak Question

OK, any help would be appreciated.

Here's my scenario: The entire top end has been rebuilt, studded, deleted, etc...except I didn't replace the HPOP. So a while back the HPOP goes bad and I replaced it with the Dieselsite Adrenaline High Output Version.

Now when I put it all back together, I still don't build more than 400psi.

Air test and I hear a gurgling noise that seems to be coming from under the driver's side head. With the valve cover off it still seems to be coming from below the head.

I did the stand pipes when I rebuilt the top end, but I don't really see any other place for the HPO leak to be coming from.

I ran out of time tonight, but my plan is to take them out tomorrow and look at them.

Is it common for the them to fail/blow O-rings?

Any help / comments are appreciated...I guess I'm just looking for confirmation that I am on the right track this time.

I'm guessing it's an early build with ICP under turbo?
If so, standpipes rarely go bad.

Did you do the nipple cup o-rings?
Injector top o-rings?

If you are only building 400 actual, it's a pretty good leak. It's been primed several times first?

I would also check the IPR

Whose o-rings did you use for the pump installation?

Can't be the IPR, when the cover is off, correct?

Yes, a 2003 build in a 2004 truck.

I did a complete o-ring and seal replacement. Every seal from the heads up, was replaced.

With the valve cover off I still hear more gurgling from under the head than in the head by the injectors.

Since my wife doesn't understand what I'm after, I had her point at where she thought the sound was coming from...she pointed at the braided line between the stand pipes and the HPO rail "log". Which is why I'm leaning towards the stand pipes seals.

Just to back up a few steps.......

It did in fact run after the reseal, correct?

How did you confirm the bad HPOP? Is it possible the leak you are hearing is the same one from the "bad" HPOP?

It's possible that o-ring you replaced down in the depths on that stand pipe went bad. They rarely do go bad, I sometimes thinks folks are better leaving that one alone rather than do a PM on it, unless it's a known failure. They have been known to crack when trying to remove.

Or as Per4 mentioned, that block or pipe fitting is cracked

I think some of the confusion comes from the common failure on late build dummy plugs, and then the stand pipes get done often, however when us guys with early builds hear the term, it's easy to assume it should be done as a PM when in fact the early build design seldom fails, and actually the late build stand pipes don't actually fail often either, but come in the same kit as the DP's

Oh yes it ran for about 25k miles after I rebuilt the top side.

The HPOP was definitely bad...it was grinding and sticking and had shavings coming out of it.

Looking back maybe the shavings are what's causing the leaks now?

I didn't do all of the seals when I replaced the HPOP, but I might have to before all is said and done.

The nut part that stays in the rail is known to crack if over torqued.
It's not so much the seals as a crack in the nut on the rail it's self.

That's the thing I have circled, right?
