metal timing gear question
Are the metal timing gear sets any noisier than the fiber gear set? I would much rather use a metal set, but many years ago I put a set in a 4 cly Volvo engine and it began make a knocking sound at idle after awhile.

The metal gears will have a distinct whir to them, which is why they eventually went to fiber. However, I kinda like it.
A knocking noise from timing gears has been known to happen, but it usually means something's wrong with them.
