If you ever have to replace your timing gears on a 4.9 liter and you go with the steel gears instead of the other fiber gears you may have some fun sounds when you first start her up. As long as you've done everything right than have no fear. I just replaced mine on my 82 F100 and went through hell trying to find out what the sound was. After ALOT of research I found out that even the tiniest little nick or burr will transfer quite a bit of noise. So i put everything back together for the third time and just let her run for about 10 mins. The sound slowly started to dissipate. So I hope this helps somebody who is going crazy over that damn sound.
