Your choice - either put new terminals on your existing GP wires, or send them back and get ZD-1s.

You can get bullet connectors and some heat shrink at any auto parts store and replace those flat connectors easily. probably take an hour +/-

Uh... pretty sure the spade-terminal and round-terminal standard glow plugs are different voltages.
The 86- "6.9" style glow plugs are designed to be run at 12V, the "7.3" round-type are designed to be run around 6V. That's what the loading resistor on the controller is for, as well as getting feedback from the glow plugs and cycling them appropriately.

7.3 style glow plugs are *not* designed to be given a full 12V, and are designed with a temperature controller in mind.

So if you intend to use the zd-9 glow plugs, upgrade to a 7.3-style controller as well.

Also if you want to up grade from the ZD1 to ZD9 plugs.
Why go to all the trouble to change the connector ends from Spades to bullets?

Buy a 6.0 GP Harness for about $20 Bucks. OH and the new Solid State Controller/Relay.

Yep! That's my understanding as well.

BTW, Macrobb (& whoever else is interested). I have the original detailed Patents on the Solid State Controller (1987-1994) including internal diagrams and schematics which explains exactly how it works. It's much more complicated than I had expected!

I've been looking for that for TWO YEARS and I finally found it in the least expected yet most obvious place to look. It's an International Harvester Patent! I'll have to look again because I haven't had it open in a couple of months but I'm quite sure the inventor was working for IH.

I highly expected it to be an Electronics company Patent, a company commissioned by IH to design it for them, but nope!
The excellent engineers who made such a great engine with the 6.9L IDI (later to become the 7.3L IDI) also designed the controller.

I found this about 2-3 months ago and I have been planning to post these files here for the READ FIRST section of the forum AND the Patents for the previous 2 controllers but I have just been overwhelmed with work to get done!

I'll get to it within a couple of weeks? (inside of 2-3 weeks?) My workload here has been extremely demanding and insane. I wish I could make 5 cents per hour but I don't.
