fuel pump

hey everyone so I traded my 86 samurai for this 90 f150 4x4 with 351 Windsor efi the guy I got it from had the fuel pump hooked up to a toggle switch well I just ran it to a fuse that comes on with the key and goes off with the key is it ok for the fuel pump to run non stop if not anyone know how to hook it up right thanks.

I believe that they usually run through a relay.

You and the PO have bypassed the safety fuel shut downs.
If you get in accident with a fire your Insurance will be void and you could face manslaughter charges if the other drive or one of your passengers die from the fire.

Here is how it should be wired:
