Nylon Window Rollers Don't Roll

I installed new nylon window rollers in the extended window lifts (for solid side window conversion) on my '54 F100. They fit so tight that the rollers don't roll. I'm afraid that when I install the window, it's not going to slide back and forth. Are there any tricks to getting these to operate properly?

Or did I install the rollers correctly?
I assembled them in the channels first and then slid them on to the window regulator posts. Compressing the spring in order to get the horseshoe clip in was quite difficult.

Window rollers I used:

Thanks!

The ones I installed were tight also.
I greased the track slots and just used it.

Works a lot better than one roller intact and and one in the bottom of the door!

Just an observation as I have no experience with that sort of kit, but the rollers will never "roll" with that arrangement. The tight contact with the upper and lower bar at the same time prevents it. At best, they will slide. Perhaps that's the intent? Modern riser assemblies use square or rectangular nylon sliders in those positions.

I think you are OK. Even with my old "rollers" they don't roll, they slide. I used white lithium grease and my windows with all old equipment go up and down easily.

This is a replacement (repro) window roller. AFAIK: The originals were all metal.

BA-7023240-A .. Window Roller / Reproduced.

1952/58 Ford Passenger Cars; 1953/56 Trucks; 1955/60 Thunderbird.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 10 = 800-487-9653.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 3,750 = 800-476-9653.

Both of the above may be repro's, but I doubt the following is:

SOEBY MOTOR CO. in Walhalla ND has 1 = 701-549-3711.

Interesting stuff!
The metal ones rolled so I was concerned about these nylons ones.

I measured the window lift opening where the rollers are. The new extended ones were 1/8" narrower (tighter) than the originals.

If this is normal, I'll go ahead and install the window.

I am trying to install the rollers and am wondering if someone can show me where the spring and plate are supposed to be relative to the channel metal..

Griz,

The spring and plate on one side of channel and the nylon head on the opposite side of channel.

Mine were also tight, but a generous coating of white lithium grease to the rail and "rollers" and all is well.
