Diesel Fuel Shutoff after an accident - Reset button?
Hi Everyone,
The manual (on page 297-1st printing; 298-2nd printing) refers to the diesel fuel pump reset button that may be required after an accident situation.
"This switch is located on the passenger’s
side of the instrument panel. Open the
front passenger door and remove the small
access panel.
The switch has a red button on top of it."
I cannot find any such button on my truck.
The prior section refers to fuel shutoff for the "6.2L/6.8L" (sic) engines. It appears that the first engine has an automatic fuel pump reset. The second engine leaves me wondering if the whole section is bogus.
Can anyone shed light on this?
Thanks
Jonathan

The side panel, lower edge right beside the passengers boots, on the outside edge will have a small panel. It will be hard to remove, amd it should be inside there. I believe you would have to take out the whole lower side panel stretching beneath the dash. If the little red button is out, you push it back in. If you have it out already and can't find it I don't know what to tell you. If your truck is being repaired this should be part of what gets done. I will go pull my manual and see what I can find.
