That's weird. All the sets of ARPs I did on a 7.3L had four shorter studs per side included just for that reason.
The kit did include 8 shorter studs 4 each side. Talked to an old head 7.3L guy and I geuss arp sometimes is like fractions of mm “or whatever small measurement” too long and it holds the bracket up from hopping over and sliding down. I was able to loosen the bolt put injector in and then tighten back down to 10 ft pounds. I did shave bracket slightly when I’d go to tighten down it would get really tight against the stud. I double checked everything stud length was the only thing I could find wrong. But there was no debris in the hole threads were freshly cleaned. No matter what the stud would protrude. I didn’t want to not be able to take the stud out so I didn’t trim that I just shaved the tip of the hold down bracket .
Also found out the hard way that you need to replaces the hold down bolts when you do injectors. snapped one of them /:
that was a different injector than the one I’m having trouble with though.
I don’t know though this is my first diesel build kinda just figuring it out as I go.
any advice would be appreciated.
trucks almost back together I’m doing the wiring harness and iraite fuel system with a sump at the moment.
