Forscan Data looking for comments

I just installed an Adrenaline HPOP, New IPR, rebuilt Fuel Bowl, and also have an S&B Intake and straight Factory size Exhaust. I use my 2003 F250 CCSB 2wd to pull a 8000 lb. Camper. Currently running GH tunes. This is data i pulled today from the Street Fury tune they sent me. It is not a WOT run due to I really dont want to hurt anything as she has 235K miles on her. I would say probably 60-70% Throttle. For all the guys that have knowledge of these trucks and tuning I would love to get your input. Plans for the future are some Bitterroot 160/0 or 160/30 Sticks and a KC Turbo Stage 1. I'm sure eventually she will need a Tranny. No idea what if anything has been done to this one. At the moment she shifts just fine.
Thanks for any/all input.
Not sure who all to tag.

This data shows a nice running rig to me. At 70% MFDES, your ICP is strong at 2700psi, and IPR% is reasonably happy at 53% and not climbing. FuelPW is not stressing the HPO system, with a max pulse width during acceleration of about 3.7ms. Good boost (MGP) at 21.8psi peak. Is this a stock turbo? You might need at least a billet compressor wheel of some sort when towing that camper to avoid surge, especially above 3/4 go-pedal. Or just skip to your plan of a new turbo and injectors. That'll be a fun change.

What ya got going on in the exhaust department? Looks like it starts backing up on you around 2500 rpm.

Looks like jeff (BWST) already jumped in and charted your data log for you. We can always count on him to be helpful whenever he is able.

The only other advice I would offer is to try a different tune for your towing. Something a little less "street race" in nature. Years ago I ran Gear Head tunes with my modified stock turbo (MST) consisting of a Riffraff 4/4 billet compressor wheel, 360° bearing and aftermarket wastegate controller. I now realize that the wastegate controller was more of a waste than anything, but the bearing kit and Riffraff wheel really held their own. I also ran 1023 Diesel tunes with the MST and they did OK for towing our 38' 5th wheel, but left a lot on the table.

I eventually grew tired of the MST and the outdated technology it provided and went to a T4 kit with a Borg Warner 363/68/.91 turbo. Simply changing the hardware made the GH and 1023 tunes run very poorly. I tried the PHP 65 HP Performance from the "free" library and that is what I have been using since. I use this tune for all forward motion loaded at 20,000 lbs GCVW or unloaded. I have one other tune on my Hydra and that is a high idle for when I want to manually command that running condition.

Like you, I was dead set on 160/0 single shot injectors, but not any longer. I would strongly urge you to follow the advice you will receive here in the way of getting the truck back to 100% potential in running condition. Check everything and replace what is needed! You have a great start by logging and charting and now are able to seek and replace what is needed. I would start with up-pipes if they are OEM and a new KC stage 1 63/68 turbo is a good choice if you are not looking to go the T4 kit route. How are the CAC tubes, boots and clamps? You can perform a boost leak test to check for any leaks in the plenums all the way to the intercooler.

Your LPO and HPO system seem to be in good shape based on the data log, are the HPOP hoses original or were they updated at some point?

Get the truck to 100% with updated and modern parts and see if you still have the desire for "MO POWA!!!" As I eluded to earlier, I did at one time. Although, after towing cross country and long distance with 266,000 mile OEM injectors and HPOP, I no longer have the need or desire for 50 - 100 more horsepower or torque. It just is not a requirement after climbing several long and steep grades. I achieved 12.3 MPG over a 5,500 mile trip towing our 5th wheel from GA to ID and back last summer. If I am able to maintain the set speed and attain a great MPG, there is no need for MO POWA in my humble opinion.

Looking past the performance upgrades, check the suspension, steering, axles, etc... A critical component failure will stop you dead in your tracks no matter how many upgrades you install.

We all look forward to what you find and end up with after you have set your own goals for yourself and your truck. We will do our best to help you realize those goals and not spend your money where it does not need to be spent.

I'll echo what SOUS wrote about the injectors. Reason being is anything more than stock size you'll generate all kinds of too high of exhaust temperature issues. I use a PHP 25hp tune with AFE big boost air filter, 4" downpipe and 5" straight pipe exhaust. On that tune, I'll push 1200 degrees and be around 23 psi boost at 2500 rpm and that's with stock injectors and turbo. If I add any "juice" to the mix with a hotter tune, then I have to back out of the throttle to keep the temperature guage out of the red zone.

Thanks for the replies, Yes its still a stock Turbo and Exhaust. Have deleted the muffler on the exhaust. Installed Riffraff JIC HPOP hoses when i put the Adrenaline on. Still need to do a boost leak test. I too used the 65 HP PHP tune the most before I ordered the GH tunes. I drive around in the Tow-Econ tune thats about a 40 HP tune from GH. Only used the Street Fury tune to get a data log.

Also have replaced all the steering linkage, Replaced front and rear wheel bearings, all brakes, and shocks.
Again Thanks for the replies,
Steven
