A little more on the parking brake. I used the stock hand brake cable with a home made wish bone link to the Explorer cables. Used the short Explorer cable on both sides. More in my build thread. see post no. 161 https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...a-f100-11.html

Do both brakes have equal braking with the hand brake set or is one wheel holding more

Roy they should both hold equally. Just as the originals do.

if the wish bone link is symmetrical then they should both set the same. And having grown up in Michigan I don't use it much at all, at least not as a matter of habit. In Michigan they tend to freeze (at least on old cars which is all I ever drove) from moisture or rust or both, and then you are stuck.

The problem is that if you don't use the ebrake system frequently enough it sticks in the engaged position wearing out the brakes. New sealed, SS cables help significantly.
