Explorer axle swap project started.

Finally I found axle in good condition from mid 2000s explorer, 8.8 3.77, disk brakes.

Tommorow I will start removing bad axle. So some pics soon!

I think you will have to weld spring perches to the Explorer rear end to make it work in your Ranger.
Never hears of a 3.77.1 rear gear ratio before.......
Is this a US made vehicle?

Not sure, becouse here German assembly Explorer was sold too. But as I can see EU Ford trucks have six 12 mm lugs usually, axle I got has five 1/2" lugs.

Ok, spring perches is not only difference! Shok mounts are different too and axle I got is of 83 mm diameter, my is 3" diameter, so I got axle with U-bolts, and plates.

Anyway I can see a lot of work ahead!

seems to me I have first quation

I wanna leave old pearches as they are and weld new on top of axle. Must they be paraller to old?

But now park brake parts look like a puzzle for me.

Any things about compatibility of park brake cabels of explorer and ranger.....

One more thing is clear now. This is 3.73 axle, stock was 3.45
