98 explorer stuck in 4lo

98 explorer stuck in 4lo
Im trying to help a friend that don't have the cash to get her truck fixed. She is ready to scrap it.
1 day she meant to switch to 4wd hi from auto, but accidentally switched it into 4wdlow . Now the truck is stuck in 4 lo.
any suggestions?
I have reset the computer via battery ..it is not throwing any engine codes.
Once you get to 35 mph the OD light flashes.
I have also tried reversing slow ,and fast and shifting in N with my foot on the brake.
what do i try next?
