Im sure this has been answered a thousand times over but i have an 02 F350 7.3 ... There is this random plug that has been dangling above my brake pedal since i bought the truck 2 years ago, it appears to be part of the wiring harness but what is it for !?!?! I recently zip tied it up to the metal dash frame ... Heres some pictures
Hey I forgot about that one. I have no clue but I also have it in my 1999 F450 and it is where I grabbed key on power for my pyrometer. Mine was fastened in the same location you zip tied yours. Always wondered what it was for. Hope someone can tell us.
That's the plug for the Lariat-only optional Ejector Seat.
Actually IIRC it's for the optional auxiliary idle controller, aka AIC.
And we have a winner!!!
It's for one of these.
It allows you to increase your RPM's and hold them at that selected number. Used for emergency vehicles, bucket trucks, when jumping a car with a dead battery. I bought one off Craigslist a few years back for a good deal. Don't use it a bunch but when I do it's nice to have.
