EBPV ?

I'm going to be installing a new turbo on my 01 in the near future. Ive heard about the ebpv delete and read some on it. They've bought new pedestals, some have removed the guts and tapped the rod actuator hole. My question is why cant I just remove the butterfly valve an leave the rest alone? What does deleting it to other than eliminate a place for an oil leak?
