EBPV leak question

I posted a couple days ago but will give background again.I found small drip of oil on garage floor.Looked under truck and it had oil drip hanging off the drip cover, not soaked by any means.Traced it back to ebpv. The rod is covered in oil and black.Dont believe its the pedistal leaking...(but those will get replaced as well)Valley dry except at very back where it looks alittle wet,not a puddle by any stretch.Hpop bone dry.Truck has 95000 on clock. So another member here suggested unplugging the solenoid so it doesnt activate.Mine still activates because of cold temps still, up here in northeast.I did unplug it but havent done much driving yet...Will this stop any leaking as well if its unplugged and not activating?Or will it still leak and just blow out all over?I am in process of getting a parts list and will order and delete the rod..But wanted to know how much time you guys think I have b4 she blows.....Or if it will blow.I would like to wait for warm weather to do the job...Thanks

When you unplug the solenoid it will not activate so no oil is going to get to the chamber where the piston is, to move the rod, so you should be good to go.

I am not so sure.. mine leaked unhooked..usally the leak is due to o-ring failure once the o-ring fails it will usally leak anyway...just my .02

I was thinking on a non ebpv pedistal or should I tap and fill the hole?I just dont want the pedistal to leak after its all together again....If I do that How do I get rid of the flap or whatever its called on the turbo?freeze plug?Anyone have a link to a non ebpv pedistal install?Im searching now for one...By the way Ive never removed my turbo and have to admit not looking forward to it.Its my daily driver and dont have a week to do the job..Hope this goes well when I start it...

With mine I just gutted the epvb threaded the hole and locktited a plug in it..as far as the flap goes I used the Banks Power Elbow..sorry i dont have a link to the "how to" but its not complicated, you will want to replace the pedistal and turbo o-rings

Thanks all....Seems alot cheaper to keep the old pedistal..IF I decide to just keep the old pedistal and delete the valve, when I put the valve cover back on is there an oring that I should change before I put the snap ring back on?also any advice on removing the uppipes from the back of turbo?aside from the plugs I need to fill where the old shaft goes and where the old flapper was,and pedistal orings are there any other parts I need?new screw or bolts for turbo?

The turbo mounting bolts are 13mm, pedestal bolts are 10mm and the v-bands are 7/16.
