Help!!! Radiator plug broke off!

I went to unscrew the radiator drain plug (drain pet****) but the head broke right off leaving the rest of it inside.

I drilled out a little bit of it so I could drain the coolant and bough a replacement plug but there are still pieces stuck inside and I cant get them out.

Should I just drill out the remaining pieces or is there a better way to get them out?

it screws in against a seat... if you cant pick the pieces out, you may have to drill it out, tap to a pipe plug size and just plug it.

What do you mean by "tap to a pipe plug size and just plug it"?

Thanks

if you have to drill to get all the broken parts out that you can, and you end up screwing up the threads in the lower tank, I would run a pipe tap thru it, make new threads, and screw in a plug .... no valve........... if you can save the threads and use the original valve, of course that is the preferred method.

If it's not leaking you could leave it alone for now. To drain the radiator remove the lower hose. Then the next time the radiator has to come out replace the radiator or repair the valve at that time.

Actually, I was able to just stick a flathead screwdriver in it and unscrew it.
