The studs on the mount go into the cross member, and the bolt holes should line up with the transmission. One side of the mount should say "front", and should of course face front. If it is not legible try spinning the mount around.

ok so i got a trans mount for my 90 f150 and i went out and really looked at it i see where everyone says to flip the cross member and it looks like it will line the holes up my question now is how far can i jack up the trans mission because the transmission it sitting on the cross member now and the mount is pretty thick and how much of the driveshaft should be showing coming out the tcase going to rear i got about 3in maybe 4 showing now and got about another 2in to jack up b4 the mount will even fit
