transmission mount questions

Hey guys i have a 1980 ford f 150 4 x4 with a c6 automatic. I want to replace the trans mount because its dry rotted, the problem im runing into is every mount i order for it is different. The mount that is on this truck looks like 2 hockey pucks sitting on the crossmember, with a steel plate bolted on top of them, then 2 bolts go through the steel plate into the trans, now i know ive seen this on a couple other ford 4 x 4 trucks, so any idea what the confusion is or where i can get a mount?

Someone wrote in awhile back, and could not find those mounts anywhere either.

maybe you could find an old mudflap and cut out the number of pieces you need to replace the old rubber? just a thought

is it a factory mount though ? can i convert it to something else?

Dont see why not, all it does is keep the trans aligned with the driveshaft and absorb vibrations. As long as it will attach to the trans and crossmember and keeps everything aligned you may be able to fabricate and sell them to others in your position.
