Driveline angle

Swapped trannys and as a result needed a longer driveshaft. I have a grinding noise at 1000 RPM and I think I have narrowed it down to the driveline angle changed and needs to be re-set. Has anyone changed the angle? How do you measure it and how hard is it to put the shims in? I have done some mechanical work but I don't want to get too deep and then be in trouble.

Has anyone had a shop fix the angle after a lift, this would be similiar and would give me a price range.

Driveline angle

Drive line angle should not have changed. The tailshaft of the tranny may be shorter, but should still be pointing on the same plane. Actually if you had alot of lift and the angle of the drive shaft was very steep before, the shorter tailshaft should have improved this. Maybee the noise is from somthing in the tranny. Just my 2cs.

Driveline angle

Thought about that the angle should not have changed except that the tranny mount was moved back about 5-6 inches. Since where the tranny is supported was moved the angle on the tranny flange would be decreased (?) therefore changing the angle. Just a hunch.
