Hmmm. Intake vacuum in the crankcase. Sounds like a cracked intake. Which intake manifold is this? Original 2V intake? Swapped on Ford 4V? Swapped on aftermarket 4V? Do the gasket surfaces of it look like it was installed recently?
This looks all original. Stock intake 2bbl motorcraft on top. Sucks air into the breather big time.

He said he plugged it, so it has to be a port. Can't plug a crack. (I'm going to regret saying that )
Is it sucking air from the base of the carb in the back?
it's sucking from the breather on the drivers driver's side valve cover. I'll try and attach a pic. It's plugged with a bolt. I believe the pcv is working properly but I'll check that next.
That's odd. Someone else chim in on this...
It looks like your #1 plug wire is on the wrong plug tower of the dizzy cap. That bank could be sucking?
Out of curiosity, are you pulling vacuum from the PCV? Not the line coming from the back of the carb, but the PCV it's self?

I just double checked the wires. They look good. Yes I have suction at the pcv valve. More on the breather side though. Can I upload video?

Let's try this. Maybe the amount of vacuum is normal to you guys. You should get an idea from this. It's noisy due to the condition of the exhaust. To me it seems to be missing on 1 cylinder.
That's not right. The heads shouldn't be making vacuum.
Thanks Teach, my plan is to tear it down anyways to put headers and an intake on it. Sounds like I'll probably take the heads off to and check them out and go from there.
No problem teach. I'll let ya know how it goes. Since we are no longer on the fuel pump I suppose I should start another thread. Maybe in the FE area.
looks like I found the problem or part of it. Pulled the valve covers and found the intake gasket out of wack on the passenger side. Intake gasket pushed out passenger side.
Rocker assembly looks pretty clean. That's promising. Down side is, you'll be doing and intake job. Throw an RV cam in there while you have it apart
I was just looking through some local classifieds. Saw a crank rods and pistons for a 390. How do I know for sure that's what they are for? Casting numbers? I'll be doing an intake and headers no matter what. If I go the 390 route then its a cam for sure. Are the stock springs yellow on a 360? Mine are.
