How did you find that Dorman kit was it on the "shelf" and you seen it would work or did they have to look it up?
I just thought it would have been a "Ford" type part only?
I guess that metal thing at the bottom is for a different set up then if it is for different makes / models.

Here it is installed, I felt it was better to add some steel washers to help keep the rod centered. As the newer nut seemed a little small for the old Ford equalizing bar. I adjusted the shoe adjusters out a bit and now the parking brake pedal moves about 4 clicks and is fully engaged.
As for Dave's question, I tried googling parking brake cable adjuster Ford F150 or something close, and found NAPA had this Dorman item, I went there, told the guy what I saw online, he looked it up and this is what popped up and he walked over to the shelf and got it. I was back home in 30 minutes from finding it online.
Yes, there are two metal pieces in the box, I did not need, I assume they are for newer trucks.
It just took me another 30 minutes to jack up the rear, remove the eyebolt, adjust the shoes, install the new adjuster on the cable, take the picture, put things away, and post it. Gee, it's 9:47AM and I'm done for the day... Well, time for our walk for exercise.
Damn if that dont look factory
I think I got mine from LMC as I was ordering other parts when rebuilding the truck.
Somehow I got 2 wrong set of cables to the wheels, dont know how I did that and I cant even say I did it in a drunk n stupper as I dont drink

I think I had the kit in the cart at LMC, then I figured I'd check google again, to save on shipping, if one of the auto parts stores had something. Once again, NAPA had what I needed.
I did spend time reading the info on the cables on NAPA's site and found there are two types, I don't need cables for an ambulance. Luckily, the cheaper ones are for normal trucks.
I'll spray the spreader bar with fluid film soon or paint that area, I have all summer...

Max, you need to get a gallon of bulk fluid film and some cheap 1" and 2" paint brushes and get busy on your frame and undercarriage. I know how much you love your truck. It comes in black now. I prefer that for frames and suspension elements. I also have a gallon of regular fluid film when I want clear protection.

Just checked NAPA online, 49 bucks for the gallon.
Not long ago I saw ebay had a seller for 38 and free shipping.
I haven't looked today though. A gallon will last for years and compare to spray cans you probably get 12 times more for about three times the cost of a spray can. And no air bubbles. A better deal by 4 times. Don't get me wrong I also have spray cans but save that for getting into tight spots.

I'll have to check Lowes and HD too, I get the veterans discount there. That's where I normally get the stuff in spray cans. I have at least one can on the shelf always. Just have to get off my butt...LOL
Nice to know that connector/adjuster kit is out there. I just got all 3 cables for my truck but I havent looked at that part yet. Nice to know I can get one if needed.
