When I put my Excursion in reverse the sensor makes the sound, but just a solid one, not the beep beep. Any one have this issue and if so how to fix/diagnose it? It is rather annoying.
My excursion does the same thing. There are possible fault codes for each sensor. I scanned mine and my left center sensor was displaying a code. When I viewed the data on the scan tool I could see 3 of the 4 sensors respond when you walk behind the vehicle and the sensor with the fault code does not respond to movement. I am going to look up the code and do some diagnostics to see if it's the wiring or the sensor itself.
Do you have a way to scan codes?
It almost certainly won't work. There are only a handful of readers out there that will work with your truck. I have a cheap OBD-II reader too and it won't read my truck.
I'm not allowed to go to Texas... because I won't come back lol
Anyone have a reliable source for Excursion parking aid sensors (4L14-15K859-AA)?
Reading reviews there doesn't seem to be a lot of reliability in the aftermarket sensors.
Yes, I can get you some down here in....Texas. At the Gold Mine. Let me know how many you need. They will be off wrecked Excursion/Expedition/F250, etc....so OEM only. Let me know how many you need. I have a set off an Expy on my Excursion now, and they work fine.
The back up sensors make a clicking noise. If you put your ear to each sensor you should here them clicking. One might be shorted and not clicking or making a steady noise. Your truck has to be in reverse to test so put the parking brake an and use chock blocks or better have a second person holding the service brake on with the parking brake while you check.
