i have an excursion with a 5.4 and the copmuter codes say sensor 1 in bank 1&2 are badbut i would like to look at them can anyone tell me where they are i know they are in front of the converters but where ? (it's 14 out and i just feal like lying in the snow for an hour to find them)
so i went under the truck and the sensors looked fine unhooked the bat and cleared the code restarted the truck and the service light went out so i think i'm ok for now
well the codes came back so i changed the two sensors pulled the neg. batt to reset the computer. drove the truck and the service light came back on. now what do i do???
Are you getting the same codes? Which 2 did you replace? The two next to the exhaust manifolds I hope. You might check for corrosion in the plugs and bad spots in the wiring.
i went to auto zone to have tham check the codes and the same codes came up when i asked him to clear the codes he said if i get the codes cleared i would faail my inspection next june because the computer will show that a code has been cleared.
i'm seeing red so what the deal
ohya he said the code would clear on it's own after 30 starts
some thing does not smell right
once it is cleared it should pass. You can always unhook the battery for about 15 min. That should clear them too.
If after about 30 drive cycles, if the problem doesn't reoccur, it will clear itself.
