Getting poo88

I just pulled over when my truck flashed reduced power. Pulled code and it came up poo88. Any ideals what to expect?

Yea. Maybe we have more recent experience here with the 6.7. A lot of the google stuff is from the 6.4 era. I'll have to choose a dealer as my original one left town.

I will add that my truck suffers from electrical/software type glitches sometimes. When this code/reduced power happened I pulled over and tried to pull codes with my edge cts. It would not. I turned key off and opened door to kill the electrics and my touch screen went all crazy and would not shut off. It's done that before. I've had to start and turn truck off multiple times to get the radio/hvac/electrics to shut off.

So when I started it back I was able to read code no problem and reduced power was gone. I didn't erase code and engine light is still on but truck ran fine the 30 miles home just now. I even got into it a couple of times to see if it came back.

edit: I unplugged my cts and started truck and sync immediately went into maintenance mode. Somehow the cts being plugged in constantly keeps things from happening, like sync rebooting, or being able to do health report. Small stuff but enough for sync to start acting wacky.

As of now the cel is gone and truck runs fine. The code is still in there as I haven't erased it. Reflecting now, I was turning into a dicey intersection that is stop and go. I do double foot, and many times get the dead pedal because of it. This is one of the times I double footed and had to launch like a rocket. This immediately spurred cel/p0088 and reduced power this time, until I restarted truck. The p0088 is really and obscure code for the 6.7 as far as these internet boards are concerned.

Unrelated I guess was finding that keeping the cts2 plugged into the obd port might keep sync from running maintenance and rebooting. After starting truck with it unplugged and sync rebooting it is running faster now, where it would lag between screens.

Mine just did this today. It was quite warm, say 90+. I pulled a quick U-turn. CEL came on and truck immediately went into limp mode. I just ignored it (these trucks throw so many CELs that I just ignore them anymore). Drove about 60miles, after a couple of restarts the CEL cleared and it came out of limp mode. When I got home I pulled the code and it was a P0088.
